Victorian Gingerbread Cottage

Enjoy the view of Sunset Lake, the boats in the harbor, or just people-watching from the comfort of a wicker rocking chair on the wrap-around front porch.  Built in 1870, the cottage retains some original architectural elements and antique furnishings.  There is a parlor, sitting room, dining room and kitchen plus one full bath (shower) downstairs and four bedrooms (each with full size bed) and half bath upstairs.  Dining table seats six with a bistro set adding room for two more in a pinch.  Kitchen is simple but adequately modernized with dishwasher, washer, dryer, microwave and smaller appliances.  Small terrace in back for grilling or simply catching the morning sun. Easy walk to town center and public beaches. TV with cable and VCR included.   Tenants to supply own sheets, pillow cases, towels and beach towels.  Pillows, blankets and bedspreads included.  Suggested maximum occupancy six (both adults and children)

 

Rates are $1,800 per week during July and $1,900 per week during August.  Some July and August weeks still available.  June and September rentals also available.

Imagine sitting on a wonderful wrap around porch, in a comfortable porch swing, with a warm summer breeze brushing across your face. This is how it feels to sit on the porch of our camp ground home.

Now imagine that you are in a quiet, family oriented neighborhood, minutes away from town, the beach, and bike paths. It is quiet, but accessible.

Our home was built in 1869. It has three upstairs bedrooms, a living room, dining room, and fully equipped kitchen, with separate pantry. We have an indoor and outdoor shower. We have a gas grill, air conditioning, cable, and all the comforts of home. Just bring your linens and towels, and you are at a home away from your home. There are two berth's in the front upstairs bedroom, a double bed in the middle bedroom, and a queen-size bed in the master bedroom. There is also a queen size sleeper in the living room. We also have ample parking at our cottage, a rare commodity.

Our home comfortably sleeps six, no more than eight people. Rental fee's are $1,750.00 per week, with an additional $200.00 refundable security deposit.

Enjoy a Stay at the Historical “Grant” Cottage

Take a step back in time and enjoy the serenity of the historic, Bishop Gilbert Haven Cottage. Located at 10 Clinton Avenue, this cottage is just a few minutes walk to town, the library, restaurants, and public beaches. This famous cottage is noted for hosting an overnight visit from President Ulysses S. Grant in 1874, and is graced by beautiful gothic architectural windows, antique stained glass, and many original furnishings.

Open and airy living rooms and an updated kitchen give ample space for entertaining downstairs. TVs, DVD and VCR are available. A small bedroom with a single bed is also downstairs. Eat in kitchen seats six, and has most modern conveniences including microwave, electric stove, coffeepot, full sized refrigerator, and small washer. A large screened porch also provides extra room for dining or relaxing. Wrap around porches grace the exterior of the home with plenty of comfortable seating. The bathroom is also located on the first floor.

Upstairs, you will find three generous bedrooms all with private entrances and double beds. Each has a decorative balcony that welcomes summer breezes. A fourth bedroom upstairs houses a set of twin beds.

Enjoy the convenience of having your own parking space (1) in the back of the house. A charcoal grill, beach chairs, and cooler are available for your use. Just bring your own sheets and you’ll be ready for a great week.

Price Information: $2000 per week, Sunday 3pm- Sunday noon.
$250 refundable security deposit is required.

Located in a quaint park and is a short walk to Circuit Ave., marina and the beach.  Front porch has 2 comfy gliders and 2 rockers looking out at a circle of colorful gingerbread houses.  The cottage is on a pathway so it gets lots of sunlight.  The three rooms upstairs consist of a front bedroom with a double bed and TV, another bedroom with 2 twin beds and air conditioner, and a sitting room with a harbor view and a loveseat that transforms into a bed. 

Newly renovated kitchen has a microwave, toaster, coffee maker, and blender.  Ground floor also has a dining room, bathroom with a shower and a large living room which features cable TV, VCR, DVD, radio, CD and cassette player.  Spacious backyard has a picnic table with umbrella and electric grill.  Extra tables and chairs are available.  Sheets and towels are not supplied.  Non smoking house and no pets allowed.  One parking space is available and is a short walk from cottage.

Weekly rate is $1,750.00 with a refundable $250.00 security deposit.

      Walk or bike to OB Harbor, Jetty Beach, OB town beaches, bike path to Edgartown, Steamship Authority ferries from Wood’s Hole and Falmouth Harbor ferry.

      All for $1800 for six people, no more than eight renters (at an additional fee of $200), non smokers only, no pets.  $500 refundable security/damage deposit.
