Duties of Board Members
Members of the MVCMA Board of Directors make a commitment to fulfill their fiduciary duty to act in the best interests of the Martha’s Vineyard Camp Meeting Association, Inc. This sometimes requires Board members to take action that may be in conflict with their personal interests, such as voting to raise the annual rent that is charged to leaseholders. Where such conflicts of interest are particularly acute, members of the Board are expected to abstain from participating in discussions or votes about matters before the Board.

Board members are also expected to attend and participate in 4 regularly scheduled Board meetings, held in January, May, August, and October, as well as other meetings that may be called to handle any emergency that requires Board action.
