Amaryllis Iglesias Glass
Amaryllis Glass began her piano study at the age of 3. At age 9 she made her orchestral
debut performing Haydns piano concerto in D Major with the Carmen Nappo Youth
Symphony. During the years that followed she studied at the Interlochen Arts Academy in
Michigan. In 1982 Amaryllis won the Schumann Competition in the Johanna Hodges
International Piano Competition in Palm Desert California. She earned her Bachelor of
Music degree at the University of Maryland, her Master of Music Degree at the Julliard
School, and acquired her Doctorate of Musical Arts degree in 1992. Amaryllis is married to
4 time Emmy Award winning composer/music director, Paul S. Glass. Amaryllis maintains an
expansive piano studio in Fairfield Connecticut where she lives.

"Our visitors to Community Sings and Sunday Services hear Stafan and Amaryllis
play regularly, but we have featured them in a in a Recital only once before," said
Bob Cleasby, Director of Programs at the Tabernacle. "They are so very talented and
great fun to work with that we wanted to feature them in a stand-alone event." They
will be playing together, as soloists, and Stafan will present one of his famous
improvisations as part of the program.
There is no fixed admission charge for this concert, rather a free-will offering will be
taken and shared with the performers. |
