Renovating the
Tabernacle

By the middle of December, the siding on the cupola had been removed.

In early December scaffolding was erected outside of the top of the cupola facilitate renovations to install a new zinc-coated copper roof and Kynar painted steel sides and vanes on the cupola and to paint the interior wrought iron framing.  A new carbron-fiber cross will be installed, to be lit from below.  These renovations will cost over $600,000.

Before: The very top of  the cupola, with the lowest part of the cross barely visible at the top of the photo.
