10 Clinton Ave

“Bishop Gilbert Haven House” – Visited by President Grant in August 1874

Come experience a piece of history at one of the most historic homes on Martha’s Vineyard!  Most doors and windows are original to the house, as is the furniture in the upstairs “Grant bedroom” where the President slept for 3 nights.

This quintessential gingerbread cottage has been recently updated, including refinished original pine floors in kitchen and painted throughout. Comfortably sleeps 8-10 people with 5 bedrooms, one bathroom, a spacious wrap-around porch and beautiful screened-in porch.  And a day at the beach isn’t complete without an inviting outdoor shower.  Three mini-splits provide A/C for your comfort.

There is a small park next to the house that provides for a more spacious setting. The “avenue” in front is walking paths only, and there is on-site parking behind the house. This peaceful home is a stone’s throw from the Tabernacle and a short walk to all the amenities of downtown Oak Bluffs, beaches, the harbor and ferries. There's plenty of activities for the kids to do!
The convenience of a washer-dryer, gas grill and beach gear help make this cottage a summer stay to remember. TV, WiFi and DVD's are also included for those staying-in times. Please bring your own linens and towels.

This property is part of the Martha’s Vineyard Camp Meeting Association. Renters must observe quiet hours and other rules located at  http://www.mvcma.org/rules-for-renters.html
