The Preston’s Cottage

If you are fond of a cottage and you are dreaming of a getaway that is reminiscent of a fairytale, then you have found what you’re looking for, a family-friendly, cozy, historical gingerbread cottage . Become part of the MVCMA community and events during your stay. Our cottage was built in 1870 and has been part of our family for more than 30 years. The cottage is located in a tranquil part of the Martha’s Vineyard Campground, and yet only a 5 minute walk to the Tabernacle, and Arts District and just 10 minutes (walk) to town where you will find shops, supermarkets, restaurants, bakeries, cafes, the famous Flying Horses Carousel, “ The nation's oldest platform carousel, since 1884”, the harbor, ferry services, as well as alluring beaches, Inkwell (walking distance), State beach (5 minutes’ drive). Alternative transportation (bus tours, taxis, rental car, or rental bikes). The cottage has two parking spaces within the property.

Our charming cottage which underwent a full beautiful and historical renovation (2019). including the kitchen, fully equipped with stainless steel appliances, gas stove, dishwasher, dining area that seats six, and pantry; a spacious living room (3 open plan rooms); a large bathroom; an additional outdoor shower; and a full laundry with washer and dryer allowing you to pack lighter, and two charming bedrooms. Most recently (Fall 2022) floors were fresh painted and new colors painted on living area; natural fiber rugs installed throughout the cottage. The cottage can accommodate comfortably 4-6 guests, with two bedrooms and an additional queen sofa bed in the back living area. Relish your morning coffee on the wrap around porch, read books on the swing chairs; enjoy a day on the beach, fishing, biking, sailing kayaking and exploring the island's and many hiking trails; spend lazy afternoons listening to the birds while relaxing in the hammock in the garden. Have a family BBQ using the new Weber gas grill in the back yard.

• Front porch furnished, open plan 3-room living area (queen sofa bed in back) with AC unit, large bathroom, laundry room, kitchen, dining room area.

Cottage second floor features:
Bedroom # 1: Queen size bed, standing fan
Bedroom # 2: Full size bed, standing fan

Cottage outdoor area:
Private side garden area, with chairs and table, hammock, outdoor shower.
Back yard area, gas grill
Parking space for two cars

Rental details and rates for 2023 season:
Saturday check-in 4:00 p.m. - Saturday check-out 11:00 a.m.

Cottage rate/fees:
Rental $2,475 per week
Plus, local and State rental taxes, $317.65
Plus $240 cleaning fee
Plus $500 security deposit (refundable)
Total rental rate per week $3,532.65

Sorry, no pets. No smoking or vaping in cottage or premises. No parties or events. Registered occupants only.
