17 Commonwealth Ave
Oak Bluffs, MA
Welcome to the 1871 Gingerbread Cottage of our dreams! We have renovated this four bedroom, 2 bathroom house by hand and spend much of our time here filling it with love and memories. When our own family isn't here, we open it to you + yours!
The cottage was featured in the May/June '16 issue of Yankee Magazine, as well as several design books.
We are within walking distance of the Oak Bluffs ferry terminal, Circuit Avenue's restaurants and bars, and several beaches. Lighthouses + more are just a short bike ride away. Commonwealth is centrally located but one of the quieter streets in the Campground with rare car traffic; just the way we like it!
We like to think of our cottage as the perfect mix of vintage charm and modern comforts! A large living room, dining room, original art, courtyard with table, chairs, a well-spice and appliance stocked gourmet kitchen and a grill all make for a cozy vacation home. A parking spot is available (an additional parking space can be requested for a $50 rental fee from the MVCMA) and bikes and yoga mats and all sorts of beach gear are available for your use. We've got puzzles and DVDs and games and art supplies galore for rainy days! And the TV is a smart TV where you can login to all your favorite streaming services.
This is a true, deeply loved home that we treasure the opportunity to share. We have one small locked closet with our clothes and things, but otherwise you're welcome to use anything you find, as long as you treat it as you would something of your own.

Please note, this property is part of the Martha’s Vineyard Camp Meeting Association. This unique historic neighborhood is one of the Vineyard's top draws — it's so special to stay here! It also comes with some rules. You must register as a guest at the MVCMA Office upon arrival or not later than the next regular business day.
Renters must observe quiet hours from 11:00pm to 8:00am, and other “Rules for Renters” located on the MVCMA website. No dogs are allowed (sadly) — this is not our rule, it is the MVCMA's so unfortunately we cannot make any exceptions for even the goodest boys and girls. Additionally, no smoking or vaping, please.
