Three-time NAACP Image Award winner, Malik Yoba’s Harlem To Hollywood is an immersive cinematic theatrical experience that intimately unveils the life and mind of one of Hollywood’s enduring talents over the last 25 years. Harlem to Hollywood is the opus Yoba says he’s worked on “my entire life to share”. He takes the audience on a journey through his remarkable career, offering an inside look at his creative journey from Harlem to the heights of Hollywood.
Set in a therapist’s office, this tour de force one-man show displays Yoba’s masterful embodiment of more than a dozen engaging and colorful characters with stunning accuracy, musicality and humor. Yoba uses his words, music, dance and cinematic elements to explore themes of fame, family, career, love, physical and sexual abuse, personal relationships, mental health, spirituality and ultimately self-acceptance. Yoba delivers an honest, raw and transparent look into his journey, from boy to man, from Harlem to Hollywood and celebrates those who have influenced him along the way.
Directed and co-written by Kevin Ramsey, Co-written and performed by Malik Yoba.
